What is Refacing

Refacing your kitchen cabinets includes covering the exposed frames with a thin veneer of real wood or plastic laminate. Doors and drawer fronts are replaced to match or complement the new veneer. New hinges, knobs, pulls, and molding complete the transformation.
Countertops are also available in either Laminate, Granite or Quartz.

3 Easy Steps

1 Visit your local Lowe’s store and talk to our trained specialist or visit lowes.ca/refacing or call 1-855-74lowes. A Lowes associate will start the process to set up a free in-home consultation.
2 A Lowe’s authorized in-home design consultant will visit your home and recommend the appropriate product, accessories and options with an estimate based on your needs. No need to return to the store, everything will be handled in the comfort of your home.
3 Installation performed by a Lowe’s authorized service provider.

Our team of professional installers will help with your cabinet refacing project from beginning to end. We will:

1 Remove existing doors & hardware
2 Prepare cabinet surfaces where required
3 Apply matching coloured peel-and-stick veneer
4 Clean up edges to fit to size
5 Install new soft close hinges and doors
6 Add new handles and/or complimentary accessories

How long will a typical reface job take?

Once started, the installation is typically completed within 2 to 3 days.

Do you offer a painted cabinet option?

No, we do not offer painting of the cabinets as a refaced covering.

What are the advantages to refacing my kitchen as opposed to installing a new kitchen?

Primarily it is less expensive and less time consuming than replacing cabinets. The end result is just as beautiful and will add value to your home when it comes time to sell it.

Is a refaced kitchen as durable as a new kitchen?

Refaced kitchen cabinets will last as long as new cabinets with normal use.

Do I need to prepare anything prior to the installer’s arrival?

Prior to arrival, we ask that you clear counter area and all drawers. If we are replacing drawers no need to empty the old ones. No need to empty the cupboards entirely (unless we are replacing with drawers/pullouts) but we will need clear access to the front third of each cabinet.

Do you offer a warranty?

We offer a 15 year limited manufactured warranty to the original owner.

Will refacing mess up my countertop, flooring, tile, wallpaper, etc?

Our installation teams are professionals, there is no major renovation required when refacing your kitchen.

Do you offer countertops?

Yes, we offer laminate, granite and quartz in a variety of colours and patterns.

What if I’m interested in new lighting, flooring or replacing my backsplash?

Speak with the installation professional and they can advise on the options available.

Can we add kitchen cabinets?

Yes, we can add new cabinets to match your new refaced kitchen.

Can our drawer hardware be upgraded?

Yes, we can upgrade your drawer hardware to stylish soft closing drawers.
